This flagship ESS Sabre's 4th-generation DAC chipset offers top-level decoding characteristics, resulting in excellent sound quality. It provides a best-in-class Signal-to-Noise ratio, ensuring minimal background noise and high clarity in audio playback. Currently, there are two available DAC cards: the ES9039S Pro (included with the device) and the ROHM BD34301 EKV (available for separate purchase). Additionally, users have the option to replace the OPAMPs to further tailor the sound to their liking. xDuoo is actively developing AKM and R2R-based DAC cards for the XD05 Pro, expanding the range of customization options available to users.

To make sure the XD05 Pro delivers the best performance, xDuoo has added top-quality hardware. They've included a powerful XMOS XU316 USB chip and Qualcomm's advanced QCC5125 Bluetooth chip.
