Description

The SHANLING EC Zero AKM is a premium portable CD player that combines the nostalgia of physical media with modern Hi-Fi performance. It is built around the renowned AKM AK4493S DAC, famous for its “Velvet sound”. So, this DAC reproduces smooth, natural and highly detailed audio. The AKM DAC is paired with Dual SGM8262 amplifiers, capable of delivering up to 836mW power output at 32Ω through its 4.4mm balanced port. This much power ensures excellent performance with both headphones and IEMs. Alongside traditional CD playback, the EC Zero AKM also functions as a high-resolution USB DAC, supporting PCM up to 768kHz and native DSD512. This function allows it to serve as a high-quality desktop audio source. The player features Bluetooth 5.3 with aptX Adaptive for stable wireless audio transmission to compatible headphones or speakers. The main highlight of this player is its CD ripping capability. This function grants users the ability to convert their discs directly into lossless WAV files via USB storage, which results in easy archiving digitally. Designed with a CNC-machined aluminum chassis and tempered glass lid, it offers a durable and premium retro aesthetic, complemented by practical controls such as a smooth volume slider, playback buttons and a button lock for convenient everyday use. Powered by a 5500mAh battery providing up to 18.5 hours of playback, the EC Zero AKM delivers a versatile listening experience that blends classic CD enjoyment with modern connectivity and audiophile-grade sound quality.

AKM DAC & HIGH-POWER AMPLIFIER ARCHITECTURE

At the heart of the Shanling EC Zero AKM lies the renowned AKM AK4493S “Velvet Sound” DAC. It delivers a smooth, natural and highly resolving sound signature with excellent dynamic range and low distortion. This DAC is paired with dual SGM8262 amplifier chips, creating a powerful amplification stage capable of pushing 836mW of power output, driving a wide range of headphones and IEMs with ease and efficiency. The player offers both 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced headphone outputs, ensuring flexible compatibility with modern audiophile gear. The balanced output provides higher power and improved channel separation, resulting in a wider soundstage, better control and enhanced musical detail.

HIGH-RESOLUTION USB DAC MODE

Beyond CD playback, the EC Zero AKM can function as a high-performance USB DAC. This transforms the CD player into a versatile digital audio hub for your computer or laptop. Through USB connection, the player supports high-resolution audio up to 32-bit / 768kHz PCM and native DSD512, ensuring exceptional detail retrieval and audio fidelity. This mode allows users to enjoy the same AKM DAC and powerful amplification stage when streaming music from digital libraries or online services, effectively turning the EC Zero AKM into a premium desktop DAC and headphone amplifier.

BUILT-IN CD RIPPING FUNCTIONALITY

The EC Zero includes a convenient CD ripping function, allowing users to convert physical CDs into digital files with ease. Using the USB-C port, the player can rip CDs directly to external USB storage in WAV format, preserving the original audio quality without compression. This feature makes it easy to digitize and archive your CD collection, giving you the flexibility to enjoy your music both in physical and digital formats.

BLUETOOTH 5.3 WIRELESS TRANSMISSION

For modern wireless listening, the EC Zero AKM features Bluetooth 5.3 transmission, enabling seamless connection to wireless headphones, speakers and receivers. It supports high-quality Bluetooth codecs including aptX Adaptive, aptX and SBC, ensuring stable connectivity and improved audio performance compared to standard Bluetooth transmission. This feature allows users to enjoy their CD collection wirelessly without sacrificing sound quality or convenience.

LONG-LASTING BATTERY PERFORMANCE

This provides up to 18.5 hours of playback, allowing users to enjoy extended listening sessions without frequent charging. The device charges through USB-C, offering convenient and widely compatible charging with modern adapters and power banks.
