At the heart of the HiBy R8 II lies the innovative Darwin-MPA (Multiphase PWM Array) architecture – HiBy’s most advanced digital signal processing platform to date. This updated implementation of R2R topology includes a massive 1024-tap digital filter, 16-way current-mode DAC array, and native decoding support for PCM up to 32-bit/1536kHz and DSD1024. The Darwin V2 filter system offers both oversampling up to 128x and NOS (non-oversampling) modes, allowing listeners to tailor the sound signature to match their gear and preference for either analytical or analog-style playback.

CLASS A/AB DUAL AMPLIFIER MODES WITH TURBO POWER BOOST

The R8 II comes with two selectable headphone amplifier modes: pure Class A for ultra-linear, high-current output and Class AB for efficiency and battery conservation. With the push of a toggle, users can switch between smoother, high-bias performance and cooler-running AB mode depending on their headphones or listening conditions. In Turbo Mode, the player elevates voltage output up to ±7.5V, offering up to 710mW of power through the 4.4mm balanced port—suitable for even demanding planar or high-impedance headphones.
