Description

10MM DUAL MAGNETIC DRIVER: TRN MT1 Pro has 10mm dual magnetic circuit moving coil + 5μm silicon crystal composite biological diaphragm dynamic driver. TRN MT1 Pro has developed a new dual-magnetic circuit moving coil. A new magnetic circuit and flux increased 15%. The stronger magnetic field and more substantial magnetic flux make the energy of medium and low frequency more separated and have a better performance for the bass quality shock.

RESIN INLAID METAL PROCESS: The imported resin cavity is matched with bright metal accessories. The cavity and the metal cover are tightly bonded together. TRM MT1 Pro is using resin inlay technology to show the excellent texture.

SEMI-OPEN ACOUSTIC BACK CAVITY: A semi-open back cavity acoustic cavity is used to achieve the air pressure balance. The sound coming out is softer, lighter and the surrounding feeling is more comfortable. And it can also effectively relieve the pressure on the eardrum and easily enjoy the music.

ERGONOMICALLY DESIGNED: MT1 Pro brings a personalized wearing experience. The external shell is shaped for long-wearing, no fatigue or irritation. MT1 Pro Imported resin shell, reliable and durable. This shape is comfortable to wear for a long time, and at the same time, it increases the passive noise reduction effect.

HIGH PURITY OFC CABLE WITH 0.75MM PINS: MT1 Pro adopts Silver plated Oxygen free copper cable with 0.75MM 2PIN QDC design, giving a boost to transparency, separation, sound field, sound background, vocal and instruments. Type C 0.75MM connectors can effectively protect the contact pins from accidental breakage, which gives longevity and better wearing stability to the users.

HD MICROPHONE: The mic module also features a single button control for functions such as skipping tracks / play pause / answering / reject calls.

Acceptable good iem under strict budget

Hey guys, if you are under 1k strict budget, this MT1 Pro would be a good choice for you. This sounds better than edx, edx pro and previous MT1.
This MT1 sounds very near to the edx ultra in terms of sound quality, a less bright signature than edx ultra. It has a semi open back design which may give it a little bit open sound and a bit wider sound stage, tho it's not exceptional but good for budget casual listening.
Build and design is good and almost same as edx ultra.

First IEM

As its my first IEM, I really don't have a a base for comparison. With that said, the bass lacked in clarity. Satisfied with my purchase.

The snake oil is strong on this one! 🐍🐍

...

KZ gold & silver plated 8 core copper cable on a TRN MT1 Pro paired with wide bore horn tips and, tuning spacers. This was an exercise in tuning, on the cheap. And/or to just prove, that all is not the mythical snake oil.

I don't care what anybody says. In an a/b with the EDX Pro, the MT1 Pro comes out a winner hands down. These MT1s even without the mods, are audibly better in every single aspect, tonally and technically, vs the much hyped (guilty myself) EDX Pro which was quite unnatural in the mids, to put it mildly. The bass guitar on Smooth by Santanna & Rob Thomas sounded like it was phase inverted, through the EDX Pro! Get the EDX Pro if you wanna experience this, lol!

This MT1 Pro, is very natural sounding, something that can never be said about the EDX, although I wouldn't say the EDX is bad, and works very well with music genres like EDM. The MT1 on the other hand, seems an all rounder. Better bass detail and extension in the MT1, almost sub like and clean. Better soundstage. Audiophile tonality in the mids. The resolution in the highs is good enough to be able to differentiate the varying levels of decay of cymbals between multiple tracks. Jim Gordon's percussion on Layla was well defined and tonally succinct, and the air in Tracy Chapman's Fast Car had more than adequate extension. Instrument separation being top notch, matching higher tier IEMs. Although this (separation) could be attributed to the DACs but same across the two DACs that I have and the MT1 in this config is clearly able to portray the differences between the two.

The cable upgrade definitely improves the sound. All this being audible even without (or with) an A/B comparison of (three) cables and ceteris paribus. Although now I'm kinda wishing I just got an eight core without the platings. Personal preferences.

Tuning spacers used to space out the wide bore silicon eartips from the base of that longish nozzle on the MT1, in order to place the tip of the nozzle deep inside the eartip giving it a "deep insertion" horn like configuration. End result, a deeper soundstage, sub like lows down around 20Hz, with tasteful highs that don't bite.

All in all, after not so cheap a total for all mods and accessories trying to tune the EDX and this MT1, relative to the cost of the IEMs themselves, and a lot of patience in watching the shipping logistics at work, it's amazing to see how much of a good sound can be had without having to rob a bank or sell half a kidney.
