Elysian Pilgrim Review

Elysian Pilgrim impressions:
- I wouldn't say it was a revelation or anything the moment I put it on. Nothing really gives me that feeling anymore tbf.
- Not a bassy iem per se, but the subbass has a good heft to it, even if doesn't graph like that. Goes deep and sounds great and can eq up the quantity since it's not limp bass. The quality of the bass is noteworthy.
- Mids are very clear and smooth. Mids in general sound great on most tracks cus of the clarity, without any added sharpness. On some tracks, they sound ok (with vocals that are more thick or 'hazy' sounding). No complaints on the clarity, the mids are better than the ie600, from memory, which had a slight edge to it. But it doesn't turn every vocal track into something "musical" which I felt the tea2 did.
- Treble is extended, not bright, didn't really feel any graininess or 'edge' to it which I have felt on some iems with extended or bright treble.

Vs variations (Only have this with me atm, will compare with some other stuff when I go back to my place)
- Pilgrim has better clarity / incisiveness, but not a night and day difference
- Details are comparable between the two
- Bass quality is not too different, variations has much more present subbass, but I feel like they perform similarly, or maybe a bit of an advantage to the Pilgrim, which isn't bad at all considering Variations has quite good subbass.
The bass may cloud the perception of detail on variations sometimes, but when I look for it, the details are about on par.

Overall, I'd say I'm pretty satisfied with the pilgrim. My main expectation was good clarity / incisiveness, which it certainly has, the quality bass was an added bonus, though I'd like some more qty.

Edit:
Vs 64audio Nio, the observations remain similar to the Variations, just that the midbass on the Nio is better than both.
