RAPTGO - x HBB Hook X Wired IEM

Hook X is a highly-acclaimed planar + PZT hybrid driver IEM launched recently by Rapt Go. Bad Guy Good Audio Reviews (also known as BGGAR or HBB), is one of the legendary audio reviewers in the audiophile world. He has years of experience in the audiophile community. This latest Hook X is a collaborative project between Rapt Go and HBB, together taking the Hook X to all-new heights of awesomeness. The new Hook X has got bigger, a stronger magnetic circuit with a 7*2 Dual-array N52 magnetic circuit design. The Planar Driver now adopts a thinner diaphragm for improved low-frequency response and presents the listeners with a richer sound experience.

Usually, we get DD+BA driver combinations in hybrid in-ear monitors. But Hook X is a different IEM altogether. It brings a unique and one-of-its-kind sound experience with its unique driver configuration. Hook X houses a 14.2mm custom-developed planar magnetic driver combined with a 12-layered double-sided PZT driver. The PZT driver has been upgraded with thick double-sided conductive silver material. The planar magnetic driver utilizes an ultra-thin ribbon diaphragm that is suspended between two-powerful magnets. With this new and unique driver combination, Hook X delivers an incredible sound performance with ultra-low distortion, fast transient speed, and effective full-frequency response.

In order to deliver high-quality sound performance, the new Hook-X HBB features an open-back grill design. The face plate area has air vents that allow for maximum airflow to highlight a wide soundstage and a powerful lower-end drive with the pair. It also prevents air-pressure build-up within the ear canal effectively improving the wearing comfort for the users.

RAPTGO has designed the new Hook-X after a large number of simulation experiments to match the typical ear angle and wearing experience. The pair has been crafted using high-precision 5-axis CNC machining processes to deliver a uniform structure with a premium finish. The shells are made up of high-quality aluminum alloy material.

RAPTGO Hook X comes bundled with an optimized modular cable with interchangeable termination plugs. The cable is made up of high-quality OCC silver-plated coaxial shielded wires that offer smooth signal transmission with low internal resistance. It has an interchangeable termination design; the pair includes 2.5mm+3.5mm+4.4mm plugs in the package.
